THE SHAPE OF TIME: A CONVERSATION WITH TAYLOR GALLOWAY

Taylor Galloway with Allie Haeusslein presented by Deadbeat Club

4pm - 5pm

For more than a decade, photographer Taylor Galloway returned to his family’s farm in rural Virginia, documenting the land and the people whose lives have unfolded there for generations. The resulting body of work, across the street from Heaven, recently published by Deadbeat Club, is a meditation on family, memory, belonging, and the passage of time.

Join Galloway in conversation with Allie Haeusslein to discuss the project’s origins and evolution, the rewards and challenges of sustaining a long-term photographic project, and the process of editing and sequencing more than a decade of photographs into the book form. The program will begin with a screening of a short film Galloway is developing in conjunction with this body of work, inviting a discussion of how moving image, sound, and photography coexist and what each medium brings to the project.
